I’m currently thinking about how I can connect a personal mission and personal goals with the goal to get more valuable long-term insights from reflecting on these. This could help you to focus on the most important things in life.
Research, Concepting, Design, Prototyping
I strongly believe that we should focus on our personal mission in life, as Stephen Covey is talking about in The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. With a strong focus on our personal mission and directly connecting this with our personal goals and the tasks we do every day we could possibly become more effective and find more meaning in life.
With current (personal) project management software like Things, OmniFocus and ToDoist we're focusing on a lot of (grouped) tasks and with roadmapping software like Jira or the build-in Gantt Chart function of Dropbox Paper we take a higher level approach. I couldn't find a tool that helped me connect my higher vision and my actionable day-to-day tasks, giving me the ability to see the impact of what I'm doing today and reflecting on how this could help me tomorrow.
The mockup above is a first exploration, I'm currently tinkering with this idea and exploring different directions in my spare time. Maybe I completely discontinue my idea of creating an application for this and will build an advance Notion template instead.
For now I'm experimenting with my own system using Dropbox Paper Notion. Prototyping it in this way will help me decide if it would be a valuable product. Here are my old Dropbox Paper Quarterly Review and Weekly Review templates. Feel free to use them 😄.
